I must admit, I am not an early riser so I did curse when my alarm clock went off at 6 o’clock in the morning. A quick splash in the bathroom and on my way to the railway station for my journey to Dresden, Germany. I saw all the commuters heading for the available seats in coach. In my mind I saw myself with my suitcase, standing in the hallway with the backpack of another traveller poking in my back and the elbow of another person in my ribs. And then I remembered I bought a first class ticket and I must say: I can get used to that. So much space, nice seats and a relaxing atmosphere. I have a table to myself so I can write away. On my left the beautiful green scenery. No rush. The only thing that could ruin this trip is a signal malfunction between Apeldoorn and Deventer that caused a 20 minutes delay. So I will probably miss my connecting train in Hannover…
